Genesis 1:3 And God said: "Let there be LIGHT." What spiritual elements were first created?
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Two different elements are mentioned in this verse. This two gives us the image of God.
Genesis 1:2 "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." The elements in this INVISIBLE WORLD OF GOD are mentioned in these opening verses. The earth unformed but separated from heaven, darkness sinking and placed over the deep, and the Spirit of the Lord walking over the waters. In other words, man coming out from God in the same process of earth coming out from heaven, the spiritual realm in which man was created is presented here. Darkness already sinking and not belonging to this realm is placed over the surface of the deep, symbolizing the heart of man creation free from the forces of darkness. The Spirit of God hovering over the waters symbolizes the mind of man being protected by the Spirit of the Creator from any contamination from the inside out. A projection of the Spirit of God living inside man and protecting him from the outside forces always in constant rebellion against the laws of God.
With this invisible world already in our minds we can project the images of the elements existing already before the beginning of the world which are mentioned in the Book of Job, chapter 38.
Job 38:4- Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footing set, or who laid its cornerstone - while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? Who shut up THE SEA when it BURST FORTH from THE WOMB, when I MADE THE CLOUDS ITS GARMENT and WRAPPED it IN THICK DARKNESS, and set ITS DOORS and BARS in place, when I said, "THIS FAR YOU MAY COME AND NO FARTHER; HERE IS WHERE YOUR PROUD WAVES HALT?"
The Book of Genesis, chapter one, mention the constant rebellion of the forces in opposition to God's laws when He commands man not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Man was created in the image of God, therefore he possesses a good understanding of the elements of the invisible realm and why he needed to follow the commands that God stipulated for them in order to continue his role among the living beings in which man was the ruler and the life that God prepared for them.
In order to understand better the symbolism that characterize many accounts in the Bible we need to be separated from the visible world and start the journey to the invisible one like many did in the ancient times.
My friend, I will continue with this journey soon...
