To reach the full potential as a Loyal Soldier of Christ Jesus, it begins by training the mind. One way to accomplish this task is through meditation, because it brings a sense of calm and centered feelings that is especially crucial in chaotic situations. Awareness, calmness, and focus will increase. Having the right state of mind in the face of adversity is a powerful tool.
They are all very important factors in the role as a Loyal Soldier of Christ. Without awareness, you will not be able to fight in a battle without getting hit or even kill. Without focus, you will not be able to catch the right opportunity to strike or defend, which could be disastrous. Without calmness, you will not be able to focus or relax. If you tense up out of fear, you will burn out quickly. You must learn how to govern your spiritual eagerness so it will not disperse unused in that way you will have more of it when it is really necessary.
2 Timothy 2 says, "Be strong through the grace that is ours in union with Christ Jesus. Take the teachings that you heard me proclaim in the presence of many witnesses, and entrust them to 'reliable people', who will be able to teach others also. Take your part in suffering,as a loyal soldier of Christ Jesus. A soldier on active duty wants to please his commanding officer and so does not get mixed up in the affairs of civilian life. An athlete who runs in a race cannot win the prize unless he obeys the rules. The farmer who has done the hard work should have the first share of the harvest. Think about what I am saying, because the LORD will enable you to understand it all."(1-7)
"Remind your people of this, and give them a solemn warning in GOD's PRESENCE not to fight over words. It does not good, but only ruins the people who listen. Do your best to win full approval in GOD's SIGHT, as a worker who is not ashamed of his work, one who correctly teaches the MESSAGE of GOD's TRUTH. Keep away from profane and foolish discussions, which only drive people further away from GOD. Such teaching is like an open sore that eats away the flesh."(14-16)
"In a large house there are dishes and bowls of all kinds: some are made of silver and gold, others of wood and clay; some are for special occasions, others for ordinary use. Those who make themselves clean from all those evil things, will be used for special purposes, because they are dedicated and useful to their Master, ready to be used for every good deed." (20-21)
"As the LORD's servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all, a good and patient teacher, who is gentle as you correct your opponents, for it may be that GOD will give them the opportunity to repent and com to know the Truth. And then they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the Devil, who had caught them and made them obey his will." (24-26)
Numerous verses in the Scripture refer to the importance of meditating on the WORD OF GOD and GOD's CHARACTER, to help us to be diligent in doing what is right.
Psalm 119 says, "How I love YOUR LAW! I think about it all day long. YOUR COMMANDMENT is with me all the time and makes me wiser than my enemies. I understand more than all my teachers, because I meditate on YOUR INSTRUCTIONS. I have greater wisdom than those who are old, because I OBEY YOUR COMMANDS. I have avoided all evil conduct because I want to obey YOUR WORD. I have not neglected Your Instructions, because YOU Yourself are MY TEACHER. How sweet is the taste of Your Instruction -sweeter even than honey! I gain wisdom from YOUR LAWS, and so I hate all bad conduct." (97-104)
